Cinematography Inspiration

Aside from the Great Robert Richardson ASC, and Roger Deakins ASC, BSC , CBE; What other Cinematographers are people really studying, and inspired by? There are many extraordinary ones. I've been looking at Chris Menges BSC, ASC, lately. The Killing Fields is of course magnificent, but in the last decade, two of my favorites are, The Three Burials of Melquiades, Directed by Tommy Lee Jones, and Stop - Loss Directed by Kimberly Peirce. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close was also beautiful. I'm really impressed with Chris' transition to the digital format, as well.

Today, I stumbled across the Jason Statham 'vehicle' Redemption, and was pleasantly surprised with some of the excellent visuals achieved, within what I think most would agree, was a 'lower budget' movie that is, for lack of a better word, 'Expendable.'
